Is Baidu Down Right Now?

Baidu (百度) is China's largest search engine and a core piece of internet infrastructure for over a billion Chinese users. Outage detection for Baidu is unusual: our probes run from datacenters outside China, so a "reachable" probe means "Baidu is serving requests globally" — not "Baidu is working for Chinese users on China Telecom right now". The Great Firewall, regional CDN behavior, and split-horizon DNS all mean our global probe and a Chinese user's experience can diverge by minutes or hours. Use the regional reachability panel below as a global reachability indicator. If our Hong Kong probe shows degraded while Tokyo and US probes show reachable, that's a signal worth investigating — Baidu's CDN edge in HK can fail independently of the core service.
